Is a neighborhood of the locality of Santafe, located in the downtown of Bogota, also is near "Los Cerros Orientales".
Towards the end of the year 1530, the administrative, urban and legal bases take place, between them; the mass of "La Conquista", where today we find the Santander park.
In the year 1540 "Las Nieves" register a depopulation because of the exit of the conquistadors; Gonzalo Jimenes de Quesada, Nicolas de Federmann and Sebastian de Belalquazar.
In the year 1597 a temple was reconstructed with the alms of the faithful people, because the first building suffer a fire. In 1598, the parish of "San Victorino" was created, this parish started to increase in 1622 when "Las Nieves" arrived till the San Diego's church.
THE CHURCH OF "LAS NIEVES"
The Church of Las Nieves is a religious temple, It's in the neighborhood of Las Nieves in the town of Santa Fe, in downtown Bogota. It has suffer several reconstructions, The altar is adorned with spiral columns and wooden pulpit is beautifully carved. The beautiful church is decorated with colonial
paintings and is listed as a Cultural Comprehensive Conservation.
Current plans were drawn by R. P. Argot, modifying and then developed by architect Arturo Jaramillo, along with the facade.
It was consecrated on March 23, 1585 by Archbishop Fray Luis Zapata de Cárdenas.
