QUINTA DE BOLIVAR

Is a house-museum of colonial style located in "La Candelaria" which in addition to its architectural interest is relevant from a historical point of view as the residence of Simon Bolivar in Bogota.The origins of "La Quinta De Bolivar" date back to the year 1670, when the bachelor Pedro Solis de Val. 

made a donation of one portion of soil to the "Capellanía de la Ermita de Monserrate" in 1830, the house, known in that time like "La Quinta De Portocarrero" was traspased in hands of Jose Ignacio Paris, and during de XIX century, it has different uses:

- Site meetings of conservative political groups.

--- Beverage factory.

- Tannery factory.

In 1922, the Estate buy it again for his restoration and putt it

operation of a Bolivarian Museum. On January 17, 1974 the

movement "19 De Abril" subtracted the sword of the liberator
